For the past forty-nine (49) years since the creation of Ogun State in 1976, the people of Ogun West Senatorial District have remained an integral part of the foundation and growth of our beloved state. From the industrial city of Ota to the historic communities of Imeko, Ipokia, Ilaro, Ado-Odo, and beyond, Ogun West has contributed immensely to the economic, political, and social development of Ogun State. Yet, in nearly five decades of existence, Ogun West has never produced a sitting governor. This undeniable fact stands as a call to action for all sons and daughters of the district a call to unity, purpose, and collective progress.
It is on this foundation that 𝗜, 𝗛𝗼𝗻.𝗢𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗶𝘄𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘂 𝗧𝗮𝗶𝘄𝗼, make a heartfelt appeal to every indigene of Ogun West Senatorial District, both at home and abroad, to come together in one spirit and with one voice to make history by ensuring that come 2027, Ogun West produces the next Executive Governor of Ogun State. This is not just a political ambition; it is a long-overdue demand for fairness, balance, and justice in the political structure of our dear state.
The journey of Ogun State since 1976 has witnessed great leaders from Ogun Central and Ogun East serving as governors individuals who have contributed in their own ways to the state’s development. However, it remains a painful reality that no one from Ogun West has ever been given that same opportunity to lead the state. The time has come for equity to prevail, and for Ogun West to take its rightful place in the leadership of Ogun State.
We must understand that the dream of producing a governor from Ogun West is not the dream of one person or a single political group; it is the collective aspiration of a people who have patiently waited, contributed, and sacrificed for the progress of the entire state. This dream can only be realized through unity, cooperation, and mutual support. We must put aside all forms of division political, religious, or personal and work together toward a common goal: 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗢𝗴𝘂𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳.
In light of this, I strongly urge all political leaders, community elders, youth groups, religious organizations, professional associations, artisans, traders, and students from Ogun West to rally around a capable and tested leader a man who has consistently shown passion, competence, and commitment to good governance. That man is our 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗸𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗱𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮 (𝗬𝗮𝘆𝗶).
Senator Yayi’s political journey and achievements speak volumes. He has demonstrated uncommon leadership, dedication, and a deep connection with his people. As the current Senator representing Ogun West, he has shown love, empathy, and a true desire to uplift the lives of our people. Through his various empowerment programs, infrastructure initiatives, and support for education, health, and community development, Senator Yayi has proven himself a man of the people and a servant-leader who genuinely cares about progress.
Therefore, I call on every son and daughter of Ogun West to stand firmly behind Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) as our consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship election. Let us not allow internal division or political manipulation to deny us this golden opportunity once again. Let us join our voices and efforts together to support this capable son of the soil, who has both the experience and the capacity to lead Ogun State to a greater and more prosperous future.
Moreover, I humbly call on the 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗴𝘂𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗽𝗼 𝗔𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗻 (𝗖𝗢𝗡), a man of vision and fairness, to lend his full support to this noble cause. The call for an Ogun West governor is not a fight against any zone; it is a call for equity and inclusivity in governance. Prince Dapo Abiodun, as a true democrat and father of the state, has the power to guide this process with wisdom and fairness. His administration has promoted unity and development across the state, and it is our belief that he will once again demonstrate leadership by supporting the aspiration of Ogun West to produce the next governor in 2027.
Your Excellency, this is a defining moment in the history of our dear state. Supporting Ogun West is not only a just and equitable move but also a legacy of fairness that will be remembered for generations to come. The people of Ogun West are loyal, industrious, and deeply committed to the progress of Ogun State. We are not asking for privilege; we are asking for inclusion. We seek your fatherly guidance and political will to make this dream a reality.
To my fellow indigenes of Ogun West, let us remember that success can only come through unity. This is not the time to allow personal interests, political greed, or selfish ambition to divide us. We must rise above such distractions and embrace a shared vision of progress. The future of our senatorial district depends on the decisions we make today.
Let our youths become ambassadors of this movement; let our elders give their blessings; let our women, the backbone of every home, continue to pray and mobilize. Together, we can rewrite the political history of Ogun State and ensure that justice, fairness, and equity prevail.
The dream is possible, and the time is now. Let us unite behind the candidacy of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) and work hand in hand to make Ogun West the pride of Ogun State. With determination, faith, and collective effort, we can make 2027 the year our district finally takes the mantle of leadership and moves Ogun State forward in unity, peace, and progress.
