‎It was a moment of peace, love, and unity as the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ota Central Local Government, held its first-year thanksgiving, stewardship report, and fundraising event on Tuesday, 30th October 2027, in Ota, Ogun State. The event brought together religious leaders, community representatives, and political stakeholders to celebrate divine grace and reflect on the importance of faith and service to humanity.

‎The highlight of the event was the presence of 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗢𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗶𝘄𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘂 𝗧𝗮𝗶𝘄𝗼, a respected political leader and advocate for peace and interfaith harmony, delivered a powerful message centred on 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮.

‎In his inspiring address, Hon. Olayiwola Taiwo emphasised that religion should be a bridge of love rather than a wall of division. He explained that Nigeria’s diversity, religiously, ethnically, and culturally, is a strength that must be cherished and protected. According to him, 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘴 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳. 𝘕𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘥, 𝘷𝘪𝘰𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦, 𝘰𝘳 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺. ‎Hon. Taiwo urged all Nigerians, regardless of their religious affiliation, to live in peace and unity. He reminded everyone that a nation cannot grow or prosper in an atmosphere of division, hatred, and suspicion. Instead, he encouraged believers of all faiths to focus on the values that unite them love, honesty, humility, and service to humanity.

‎Addressing the gathering, which comprised numerous pastors, ministers, and members of the clergy, Hon. Taiwo extended his appreciation to the leadership of CAN for organising such a noble event that not only celebrates thanksgiving but also promotes unity and accountability in leadership. He noted that events like this strengthen the moral and spiritual foundation of society and encourage transparency in service.

‎He further advised all the pastors and their wives present to continue praying fervently for the peace and progress of Nigeria. “The role of the church in nation-building cannot be underestimated,” he said. “The prayers of righteous men and women have sustained this nation through difficult times. Therefore, I urge you all to remain steadfast in interceding for our leaders, our communities, and our youth. We must all work together to make Nigeria a land of peace and prosperity.”

‎Hon. Olayiwola Taiwo also used the opportunity to call on members of CAN and the Christian community in Ogun State and across Nigeria to 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲. He appealed to everyone to ensure they obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) as a civic duty and as a tool to shape the future of the nation.

‎In his words, 𝘗𝘳𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦. 𝘈𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩, 𝘸𝘦 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘨𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵. Hon. Taiwo went on to emphasise the importance of collective participation in governance. He highlighted that when citizens take part in elections and civic responsibilities, they help strengthen democracy and ensure accountability among leaders. He stressed that leadership is a partnership between the governed and those who govern, and only active participation can produce the kind of leadership Nigeria truly deserves.

‎Speaking further, Hon. Taiwo expressed his strong support for the 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗔𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗯𝘂, whose administration, according to him, has shown remarkable commitment to economic reforms, infrastructural development, and youth empowerment. He encouraged Nigerians to remain patient and hopeful, as the reforms being implemented by the current administration will, in due time, yield positive and lasting results.

‎He also reaffirmed his 𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗸𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗱𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮 (𝗬𝗮𝘆𝗶), whom he described as a visionary leader with an excellent track record of service. Hon. Taiwo called on the people of Ogun West and Ogun State at large to rally behind Senator Yayi’s ambition to become the next Governor of Ogun State in 2027. He expressed confidence that Yayi’s experience, humility, and dedication to public service make him the best choice to continue the transformation of Ogun State.

‎As we look forward to the 2027 general elections, Hon. Taiwo stated, let us unite under one purpose to build a peaceful, progressive, and prosperous Ogun State. I believe in Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola’s vision for our dear state, and with our collective support, Ogun will experience unprecedented growth in infrastructure, education, agriculture, and industrial development.

‎The event concluded with rounds of prayers, music, and thanksgiving as CAN members expressed gratitude for the words of encouragement and inspiration from Hon. Taiwo. Many attendees commended him for his humility, inclusiveness, and commitment to peace and progress.

‎In summary, Hon. Olayiwola Waliu Taiwo’s presence at the CAN Ota Central event served as a timely reminder that 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗰𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 remain the foundation upon which a strong and prosperous Nigeria can be built. His message of love, peace, and responsible citizenship resonated deeply with all in attendance, leaving an indelible mark of hope and renewed commitment to national unity.
